On Monday night, we got to see Coker College versus Georgia State, an exhibition game that saw the Panthers beat the Cobras, 99-65.

Most of the first half for Coker College versus Georgia State was a low scoring affair, with the score only at 21-18 (Panthers) at the 10 minute mark. With 7 minutes and 23 seconds remaining, GSU finally started pulling ahead (31-18), going into the break with a 54-36 lead.
For the Cobras, Khalil Halls led the scoring effort, putting up 23 points. Chase Brewington added another 9 points while both Jake Barrett and Brandon Stroman dropped in 6 points, apiece. Nathan Lemke had 8 rebounds, while LaDarius Williams nabbed 5 from the rim. The Cobras had 34 rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, on the Panthers side, D’Marcus Simonds stole the show, nearly achieving a triple double (31-8-8). Isaiah Williams (12) and Devin Mitchell (10) were the others with double digit scoring. Rebounding-wise, the Jordan Twins (Session, 11 rebounds; Tyson, 10 rebounds) contributed heavily to the team’s mind-boggling 49 rebounds, while serving up 6 steals and 11 blocked bricks.
No surprise that the Cobras had more turnovers than the Panthers, 14-6.

Nov. 10th at 5PM, the Coker Cobras heads to Newberry, SC to take on North Greenville for the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge.
Also on Nov. 10th at 7PM, the GSU Panthers remain home, taking on the Carver Bible College Cougars in a local showdown between two Atlanta based teams.
