Georgia State Opens Spring Practice with New Practice Facility
ATLANTA – With temperatures starting to rise, the Georgia State men’s golf team found themselves practicing in a new location on Friday – the Bobby Jones Golf Course just north of downtown Atlanta.
In the works for the last few years, the new Bobby Jones Golf Course off Northside Drive will serve as the new practice facility for Georgia State Golf. The driving range, practice area and course opened in late November to rave reviews. In the coming months, an indoor facility will be built with Georgia State having its own area separate from the public.
“This truly is great,” head coach Chad Wilson said. “This is a project that coach Joe Inman has been working on for the last few years and to see it come to fruition is really special. We are very fortunate to have our own place so close to campus.
“We are able to now provide all of the resources that a student-athlete would need to be successful both in the classroom and on the golf course. This facility is second-to-none and will allow our student-athletes to prepare for the next level of golf after graduating from Georgia State.”
Georgia State will return to the course for the Tiger Invitational hosted by Auburn Feb. 24-26, at Grand National Golf Club in Opelika, Ala.
